Spiers is right with his definition of Niche.

I was going to suggest finding some post war tunics that are relatively cheap, as then a pair of wool trousers, with the right putees and hat they could do for Bulgarian, Hungarian, Polish etc etc as they are not all that different. Then ta da. one tunic can do loads of little nations...

Though...the Poles had to have four pockets and those Hungarian pockets are quite ludicrous. :slap:

Okay, fair enough yes it is pretty niche

I just like some of the many other nations that made it a 'world war'. And I get to shoot Russkies without having to be a German

As for kit, yeh I've £300+ spare for tasty kit

I am looking into all the cheap look-a-like options along with loadsa dye.

Wladek, yes I must admit I like the idea of being able to do other cenral/east European forces. May give you some other Poles to fight alongside

Wadda you mean ludicrous pockets? Cows udders are so in this year :good:

I'd say Hungarian is as niche,as say 101st airborne, certainly in numbers who fought and battles involved in.

Once the Russian front games start up, loadsa chances to die for the greater glory of the Hungarian Empire

Sorry Hurrah but I can't let you fight for Stalin can I now

Empire? I thought we are fighting to restore and secure the kingdom of Stephen. :slap:

See you in the gulag comrade.

So, this Hungarian malrky, you'll have to spill the plan beans. Are you schipperfabrik-ing, or do you have cheaper way of getting the uniform? (We need an 'other nations' section really don't we...)

Oh, Schipperfabrik, I can spend several grand without blinking on that site, sadly I don't have that kind of cash.

I agree on the others, the axis have the general discussion for oddments that don't fit, see my post there, however certainly French and Poles need a "other allied" section.

As to magyars kit. Its all research and planning at the moment. I've reached the conclusion its feasible, but still bonkers.

Through google fu and resources I have to hand, Swedish 6 pocket jacket with changed pocket flaps (use material from the rear pockets) then dyed looks like a starting point.

The helmet, its a German M35 with a bracket on the back (I was thinking Heides fiberglass ones, we can then pop-rivet the brackets on).

best carry this on here: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=9683

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.

Resistance is fertile

today I wished I had been a little older and wiser when my parents said 'No charity shop will even want your granddad's old suits, we'll just throw them away'.

Airsoft Scotland. They too ages to arrive (I ordered them on December 23rd!). I checked on the website yesterday and they're now "out of stock", I also emailed RSOV and they're "awaiting stock" as well. Not really that worried, as I don't really need the Garand until June.

...was one of only 16 people who made it into work today out of a company of approx' 100 staff, due to people being whiny about a bit of snow.

Got all of my Brit gear ready to go to an open day, looked out of the window and thought "sod it". I shall spend the £20 I saved on beer instead. :good:

It wasn't just the weather (I've been out in -30 plus wind chill in Norway), it was an attack of common sense, realising that open days just aren't my thing any more.

Yeah, last weekend we had a 5-minute hail storm with BB-sized hail - It was so heavy we couldn't see the BBs flying, let alone who we were shooting at!

Yes, it is a very good book - not perfect, but still very good.

....got the PPD40 working, there's still some work to do on it but it does fire, I'll have to chrono it as it seems quite powerful. The main item to sort is the mag as it's not feeding very well at the moment if I get that working then I will be using it at the Boryszyn Loop :D
